Macedonia supports every effort to prevent violence in Syria and seeks punishment for all those who violate international law and basic human rights, Macedonian authorities have announced.
A statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia said that the country strongly supports the efforts of the United Nations to conduct an investigation on the use of chemical weapons in the suburbs of Damascus.
"From the very beginning of the crisis in Syria, Macedonia supports the efforts of the international community to prevent violence and bloodshed in the country,” the statement said, adding: “We support the efforts of the United Nations who investigated the use of chemical weapons in Damascus when hundreds of civilians were killed.”
Macedonia condemns the use of chemical weapons in Syria and stresses that such acts of Syrian authorities must be punished.
