- Israeli army begins withdrawal from Netzarim Corridor in Gaza
The Israeli army began withdrawing from the Netzarim Corridor in the Gaza Strip as part of a ceasefire deal with the Palestinian group Hamas, Israel's public broadcaster reported.
The corridor was constructed and occupied by the Israeli military to separate the Gaza Strip into northern and southern areas and prevent displaced Palestinians from returning home.
- Egypt to host emergency Arab summit on Palestine on Feb. 27
Egypt announced that it will host an emergency Arab summit on Feb. 27 to discuss ongoing developments in the Palestinian territories.
In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said the summit, scheduled to take place in the capital Cairo, came after coordination with Bahrain and the current president of the Arab League.
- Turkish president says no power can force Palestinians out of their homeland, slams US's relocation proposal
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed that no power can force Gazans out of their “eternal” homeland, as Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem belong to Palestinians.
"No one has the power to remove Gazans from their eternal homeland, which has existed for thousands of years. Palestine, including Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem, belongs to the Palestinians," Erdogan told reporters in Istanbul before flying to Malaysia.
