Disagreements between NATO members can occur, but they do not harm the framework of the alliance, a NATO official said on Tuesday.
The official, who spoke with Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, was referring to the recent tensions between the U.S. and Turkey.
"NATO allies sometimes have differences, but despite that, allies have always been able to agree on the essentials: standing together and protecting one another," the official said.
The official added NATO is not involved in the tensions between Turkey and the U.S. since it is a "bilateral issue".
