LEFKOSA, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus
The new coalition government of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has unveiled its program in the parliament in the capital of Lefkosa.
According to the program outlined by Prime Minister Omer Kalyoncu (in picture) Wednesday, police forces and fire department are now both civilian organs; support for the ongoing negotiations in Cyprus talks is reiterated; enhancing ties with Turkey, the EU and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member countries and other non-EU countries is also mentioned.
Kalyoncu said that the aim was to establish ties with countries in all fields, including economy, culture and sports.
Also, efforts would be made for setting up an autonomous administration in the Gazimagusa port and improving autonomy in industrial zones, industry, agriculture and livestock breeding.
