Turkish opposition parties have called for an end to violence.
The co-chairmen of the Turkey's pro-Kurdish People's Democratic Party, Democratic Society Congress, and Democratic Regions Party said on Friday that streetfighting and destruction of property should stop, after the violent demonstrations that took place around Turkey this week.
"No one should resort to violence," the co-chairmen said in a written statement.
The protesters demonstrated to support the Kurdish PYD, an offshoot of separatist PKK, in their battle with against Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant forces besieging the border town of Kobani. Protestors demanded Turkish intervention. During the protests, terrorist violence killed six people in the eastern city of Bingol onThursday, including two police officers.
PKK and ISIL are listed as terrorist organizations by Turkey as well as by the U.S. and the European Union.
Supporting the "solution process" -- a peacemaking process that has been underway for a decade between the Turkish government and the Kurds living in the country -- the co-chairmen said that they will make policies which will avoid provocation.
The nationwide protests broke out after ISIL- militants penetrated the Syrian Kurdish town of Kobani, known as Ayn al-Arab, on Monday.
"We want Turkey's government to maintain to take positive steps towards the Kobani," the statement said, and it added, "We also want Turkey's government to continue sending messages which will defuse the tension (on the streets)."
