The West Bank city of Ramallah lit the biggest lantern in Palestine to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan.
The lantern was set at Yasser Arafat Square in the city center amid drumming and songs praising Prophet Mohammad, with dozens of children carrying traditional Ramadan lanterns.
West Bank cities are being decorated to celebrate the holy month.
Sami Aweida, an engineer in Ramallah, told Anadolu Agency that the length of the lantern is 14 meters and its width is 4 meters.
"It will be at Yasser Arafat Square the entire month and will be an annual tradition,” he added.
