Russia on Thursday said it continues to repel border incursions by Ukrainian “sabotage groups” in the country’s Kursk region.

The groups on Tuesday attempted a cross-border attack into the Kursk and Belgorod regions, which Moscow said had been foiled.

A statement by Russia’s National Guard said on Telegram that its units, along with the military and Federal Security Service, were participating in repelling an attack near the border village of Tyotkino, next to Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy region.

Kursk Governor Roman Starovoyt in an earlier statement said Tyotkino and the village of Prigorodnyaya Slobodka were being shelled from the Ukrainian side.
