Russian security forces ‘neutralize’ suspect who opened fire in Murmansk

Russian special forces shot and “neutralized” a suspect who had randomly opened fire from the roof of a building in the northern city of Murmansk.

Murmansk regional Governor Andrey Chibis, in a statement on Telegram, said security forces were dispatched to the scene following reports that an unknown man had made his way to the roof of the multi-story building and started shooting at apartment windows and aiming at police officers.

Security forces stormed the roof and shot and wounded the shooter, who had barricaded himself atop the high-rise.

No one was killed or injured in the incident.

The identity of the suspect was not disclosed.
