Turkish President Abdullah Gul said "there was great fire and pain in Syria".
Speaking to reporters in Istanbul, Gul said that Turkey did everything possible to avoid "fire and pain in Syria".
We have done everything possible within Syria and in the world. Unfortunately, the situation in Syria is at its worst, Gul stressed.
