RAMALLAH, Palestine
Thousands of Palestinians attended a funeral procession Friday for slain 17-year-old Mohammed al-Ksbeh, who was shot and killed by an Israeli officer on Friday morning.
Eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency that two soldiers exited their vehicle and one of them shot Ksbeh in the head while the Palestinian teenager was organizing traffic near the Qalandia checkpoint.
The procession walked from the Ramallah Medical Center to the Martyrs' Cemetery in the Qalandiya refugee camp.
Ahmed al-Beitawi, director of the Ramallah Medical Center, told Anadolu Agency that Ksbeh arrived at the hospital in critical condition.
“He was pronounced dead 30 minutes later after he suffered serious injuries and bleeding,” al-Beitawi added.
Two of Ksbeh's brothers were killed by the Israeli army in the Qalandiya refugee camp during the second intifada in 2002.
