ANKARA

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday received US Senator James Risch in New York.

The closed-door meeting took place at the Turkevi Center, or Turkish House, near the United Nations headquarters. No further information was released about the meeting.

Later in the day, Erdogan will attend an evening reception hosted by US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. He will address leading US business people at another dinner event.

The president is also expected to hold talks with other state and government leaders in New York, where the 77th UN General Assembly is underway.
