WASHINGTON
Two Marine transport helicopters carrying a total of 12 crew collided off the Hawaiian island of Oahu.
Marine Corps spokesman Capt. Sarah Burns told Anadolu Agency that there is an “active search and rescue operation ongoing for two CH-53E helicopters off the coast of Oahu”.
She did not provide any details about the fate of those on board.
The crash occurred late Thursday night, according to officials.
The Marine Corps asked the public not to touch any debris from the choppers that may wash ashore.
