LONDON
The jobless rate in the United Kingdom fell to 6.4 percent in the three months to June, the lowest for nearly six years, the country's statistics authority said.
The Office for National Statistics said on Wednesday the number of people out of work in the country fell by 132,000 to 2.08 million compared to the January to March period. The number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance, a state benefit for the unemployed, fell by 33,600 to 1.01 million in June.
