US drones violating Afghanistan's airspace: Taliban

ISTANBUL

The interim Afghan government on Saturday said that US military drones are patrolling and "violating" Afghanistan’s airspaces.

Speaking to Kabul-based TOLO news, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said: "These aircraft undoubtedly belong to the US, flying and crossing from the airspace of some neighboring countries to Afghanistan."

"Everyone should understand their responsibilities in this matter and stop the aggression," he said.

Mujahid also stressed that the Taliban have repeatedly protested this issue and asked the US to take it seriously.

Earlier, there were reports from certain sources indicating that drones had been observed conducting patrols over Kandahar and Nimroz provinces in the past few days.
