US President Donald Trump accepted an invitation Thursday for a second state visit to the UK that was extended by King Charles III.

The invitation was delivered by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer during his visit to Washington, DC.

“The answer is yes,” Trump said on behalf of himself and first lady Melania Trump.

"We look forward to being there and honoring the king and ... your country. Your country is a fantastic country, and it will be an honor to be there,” he added at a meeting with Starmer.

Starmer described the invitation as “truly historic” and “unprecedented,” noting it reflects the "strength of the relationship" between the two nations.

The premier also expressed Charles’ desire to make the visit more successful than Trump’s 2019 trip, which was hosted by Queen Elizabeth II.
