US: 7 shot in Philadelphia; suspect in custody
Police 'still trying to connect all the dots and determine exactly,' says Philadelphia commissioner
WASHINGTON
Seven people have been shot near the Olney Transportation Center in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, police said Wednesday.
A suspect has been taken into custody, and two firearms have been recovered from the scene, Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw told reporters.
"We're still trying to connect all the dots and determine exactly if that person had any involvement in the shooting, or whether or not those guns were utilized in that shooting," she said.
An additional shooter may have been involved, and police are working to determine the "extent" of involvement of the individual who was taken into custody, Outlaw said.
The victims range in age from 17 to 70, and Outlaw said "several have sustained gunshot wounds, non-life-threatening injuries." One victim, whom authorities have not yet been able to identify, is in critical condition.
Roughly 18 bullet casings have been recovered, according to police.
