Heavy rains in central and western Japan have prompted emergency evacuation warnings for approximately 76,000 residents in Toyohashi, located in Aichi province in central Japan.

Six provinces, including Kochi, Nara, Wakayama, Toyohashi, and Shizuoka, were heavily affected by the rains, which are expected to continue into the weekend, according to Tokyo-based Kyodo News.

The severe weather disrupted transportation services, including bullet trains and local lines, leading to the cancellation of many services.
