Over 92% of Japan’s graduating students secure job offers
Nation faces severe labor shortage

More than 92% of job-seeking college students graduating in Japan this month have received informal employment offers, according to a government report released Friday.
Amid a serious personnel shortage, the job-securing rate increased by one percentage point from the previous year, reaching its highest level since 2000, Jiji Press news agency reported.
The pre-graduation employment rate stood at 93.8% for female students and 91.6% for male students, both marking a one percentage point rise.
By field of study, the rate climbed by 1.7 percentage points to 92.4% for science majors and by 0.9 percentage points to 92.7% for humanities majors.
