Turkish stock exchange opens week in the red
BIST 100 index drops 262.45 points at Monday's opening session

ANKARA
Türkiye's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, opened Monday at 9,117.38 points, falling 2.80% or 262.45 points from the previous close.
On Friday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index wrapped up the week with a 1.1% decline, closing at 9,379.83 points and recording a daily trading volume of 94 billion Turkish liras ($2.47 billion).
As of 9.54 am local time (0654GMT), the US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate stood at 38.0096, the EUR/TRY rate was 41.8798, and the GBP/TRY rate was 49.0380.
The price of one ounce of gold was $3,043.69, while the barrel price of Brent oil was around $63.29.
