Turkish stocks up at Monday's close

ISTANBUL

The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Monday at 10,862.14 points, up 0.2% from its previous close.

After starting the week at 10,869.00, the BIST 100 index earned by 21.55 points from Friday's close.

The lowest point for the index during the day was 10,809.1, while the daily high was 10,902.61.

On Monday, 55 indexes gained in value, while 39 closed the day with losses.

The total transaction volume reached 122 billion Turkish liras ($3.33 billion), while the overall value of the index was 9.67 trillion liras ($264.7 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 36.6380 as of 6.40 pm local time (1540GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 40.0710, and the GBP/TRY traded at 47.5820.

The price of gold was $2,995.90 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $70.70.
