ANKARA

Türkiye's benchmark stock index closed Friday at 10,081.00 points, up 1.46% from the previous day.

Extending its gains to an eighth session, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 145.05 points with a daily trading volume of 106.1 billion liras ($3.05 billion).

On a weekly basis, the index gained 4.44% at Friday's close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,658.19, while Brent crude oil sold for around $70.97 per barrel as of 6.18 p.m. local time (1518GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 34.7925, the euro/lira at 36.7542, while a British pound traded for 44.2991 liras.
