2 dead, 1 missing as Storm Dana hits Spain
Madrid, Castile and Leon, Castilla-La Mancha, Basque Country and La Rioja are still on alert
GENEVA
At least two people have died and one is still missing as the powerful Storm Dana swept through Spain, an official said Monday.
Castilian-La Mancha President Emiliano Garcia-Page said a man died in Toledo's Casarrubios del Monte town from the floods caused by the storm.
The second fatality was reported by the Civil Guard in Bargas, Toledo.
Emergency officials said Monday a vehicle carrying two passengers plunged into the Alberche River in Madrid.
A child under the age of 10 was found and the search for his father is ongoing.
Although heavy rains are beginning to subside, five communities, including Madrid, Castile and Leon, Castilla-La Mancha, Basque Country and La Rioja, are still on alert.
