Denmark will send military instructors to the UK to help train Ukrainian soldiers and is planning to train Ukrainian soldiers on its territory, the government said on Wednesday.

"Denmark will support a British-led training project with 130 Danish soldiers and at the same time offer to train Ukrainian soldiers in Denmark,” the Danish Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Denmark will be offering basic military training in tactical operations and urban combat to the Ukrainian soldiers who have no military training and to those with a limited military background.

The announcement came ahead of a meeting in Copenhagen where Danish, British, and Ukrainian defense ministers will discuss military support for Ukraine.

The international conference, which will be hosted by Denmark, the UK, and Ukraine, is set to be held in Copenhagen on Thursday to raise support for Ukraine as its war with Russia has entered its sixth month.

Countries invited to the event are Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.

The objective of the event is to strengthen the cooperation between Ukraine and a number of mainly Northern and Eastern European countries.
