Lines at UK fuel stations continue

LONDON

The fuel crisis and vehicle lines at stations in the UK continued Saturday after BP and Tesco Alliance announced that a "handful" of petrol stations will be closed due to a shortage of truck drivers.

Video footage showed drivers still lining up at some fuel stations while some locations were had run dry.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, a driver in line described the current situation as "unbelievable."

The Petrol Retailers Association said in a statement that the fuel problem is easing after a drop in "panic purchases" at fuel stations last week but the fuel problem may continue in some regions of the country.

More than 200 British army personnel have been mobilized to help the UK’s petrol crisis caused by a lack of heavy good vehicle drivers, Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said Friday.
