XL bully dogs ban takes effect in Scotland
It is also offence to have XL Bully in public without leash and muzzle, to abandon or allow an XL Bully to stray, to breed or breed from an XL Bully, or to sell, give away, or rehome similar breed

LONDON
A new rule that makes owning an XL bully dog in Scotland illegal without an exemption certificate came into force on Thursday.
As of Aug. 1, it is now against the law to own an XL bully dog in Scotland without an exemption certificate or having applied for an exemption certificate to own that dog.
July, 31, Wednesday was the deadline to apply for a Certificate of Exemption to keep an XL bully dog, according to the new law. New exemptions can only be granted by a court order as of Aug. 1.
In a statement, the Scottish government warned that it is also an offence to have an XL Bully in public without a leash and muzzle, to abandon or allow an XL Bully to stray, to breed or breed from an XL Bully, or to sell, give away, or rehome the similar breed, which is a strong, medium-sized dog with a short muzzle.
A similar step was taken in England in December which made it illegal to breed, sell, advertise, rehome, or abandon an XL bully dog.
