RAMALLAH (AA) - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas informed the US Secretary of State John Kerry that they refused to start talks with Israel unless the construction of Israeli residential units stopped and respect was shown for a peace process based on two states.
Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA), a member of the Central Committee of the Fatah Movement, Azzam al-Ahmad said that President Abbas informed Kerry that talks with Israel would not start "unless the construction of Israeli residential units stopped and Israel showed respect for a peace process based on two states".
"The Palestinian administration will not wait forever and we expect solid proposals on the matter," al-Ahmad underlined.
Mahmoud Abbas gave Kerry two months to act for the peace process, al-Ahmad noted.
