Author Adnan Farzat, a friend of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, has said, “The radicals do not constitute quintessence of revolution as regime of Assad and its allies commercialize.”
Speaking to AA, Farzat stated, “there are different segments working for a revolution in Syria where cultural, ideological, religious and denominational variety is abundant, which is natural. Radicals are one of these groups. However, regime and its allies exaggerate the events in Syria to show them as their revolution.”
Author Farzat stated that Russia's support to Assad regime that fights against opponents caused emergence of radical groups.
Claiming that Chechen people fought in Syria due to their hate for Russia, Farzat stated, “Chechen people have no power of fighting against Russia on their land. Therefore, some Chechen people want to revenge on Russia by fighting against the regime in Syria which is supported politically and has Moscow's military bases, battleships and weapons.”
Adnan Farzat who is also brother of a famous cartoonist Ali Farzat, indicated that the novel called 'President was my friend' which is about Assad, is shaped around dialogues between a retired military officer who regrets tortures and cruelties he did and a cartoonist who is a close friend of the president before revolution.
“I am not a soldier or a politician. I have a humane and literary message. I support public's request for freedom and honor. The novel reveals the ideology of the regime which has been ruling for at least 50 years. It extends from incidents occurred in 1980s till massacres committed today and it certificates important details of revolution,” he said.
Expressing opinion about some intellectuals who do not support revolution of Syria, Farzat said, “Those intellectuals giving pieces of theater, drama and literary which mention about oppression, freedom and honor does not support opponents, reveals the truth that they do it just for commercial purpose.”
Among the books which Adnan Farzat has written are 'Head of Big Man' and 'The Embers of Spite' which heralds Syria revolution.
