DAMASCUS (AA) - Syrian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Walid al-Mualem on Monday said the Syrian government would attend the Second Geneva Conference.
Walid al-Mualem held a press conference in capital Damascus to evaluate the recent developments in Syria.
Al-Mualem stated that the Assad regime would attend the Second Geneva Conference and claimed the Syrian army protected all neighbouring countries including Jordan and Lebanon by fighting against terrorists.
US President Barack Obama's statement of "Syria possessing chemical weapons" casted doubts, Al-Mualem said and added, "The opposition used chemical weapons."
He also claimed that the Free Syrian Army forces joined the Al-Nusra Front, which was strengthening in Syria and the government was fighting against such terrorist organizations.
