RABAT
Demonstrators gathered in several states across the Middle East region in protest for the ouster of the first democratically elected president of Egypt, Mohamed Morsi.
Protests near the parliament building in the Moroccan capital of Rabat voiced support for Morsi, while slamming the Egyptian army for overthrowing him only one year into his tenure.
The gathering in Rabat also criticized United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia for declaring their satisfaction with the military takeover and congratulating the army.
In Tunisia, members of various ngos marched to the Egyptian embassy in the capital Tunis. The crowds chanted "Soldier, soldier why? Are we zionists? Soldier, soldier why? Are we Mubarak?"
Jordan also saw a rally to its Egyptian embassy in the capital of Amman, where protesters called for Morsi's release and return to power.
