Demonstrations took place to protest the death of Palestinian prisoner Maysara abu Hamdieh in Israel.
Ismail Ridvan, one of the Hamas leaders, called for an international investigation into the situation of Palestinian inmates, spreading of cancer in Israeli prisons and to take legal action against Israeli leaders.
Ridvan also called on armed groups to kidnap Israeli soldiers to exchange with Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails and said, "Israel will pay the price of killing Palestinian prisoners and leaders. We promise not to give up our fight."
Israel had announced the death of Hamdieh, aged 64, due to cancer on Tuesday.
Hamdieh, had been detained several times since 1978 and was sentenced to life in 2002 during his activities in Fatah.
There are around 4,460 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, according to Palestinian Ministry of Prisoners' Affairs.
Death of Hamdieh has increased tension between Israel and Palestinians
Israel carried out attacks to two regions in Gaza with air support.
According to information received by Palestinian security sources that Israeli fighter jets fired missiles into two empty areas in east of Gaza.
According to the statements of eye witnesses that there was not any casualties.
Meanwhile, Israeli radio said, a missiles dropped into the south of Israel and there was no report of casualties.
It was claimed that, Israeli attacks were retaliation to a missile attack carried out from Gaza due to the death of Palestinian prisoner Maysara abu Hamdieh in Israel.
