Premier League deducts 4 points from Nottingham Forest over financial rules breach

ANKARA

Citing a financial rules violation, the English Premier League announced on Monday that Nottingham Forest have been stripped of four points.

The four-point deduction was given for a breach of the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSRs) for the period ending Season 2022-23, according to a statement.

Nottingham Forest faced referral on Jan. 15 after its admission that it had breached the PSR threshold of £61 million ($77.6 million) by £34.5 million and the threshold was lower than £105 million, as the club spent two seasons of the assessment period in the EFL Championship, the statement added.

In the Premier League standings, Nottingham Forest is currently in the number 18 spot with 21 points.
