ANKARA
A signature ceremony took place for the cooperation agreement at the AA's "Editor's Desk".
An ATA delegation led by Director General Gezim Podgorica and Director of Foreign Relations Edlira Petrela and an AA delegation led by Director General Kemal Ozturk attended the signature ceremony.
Podgorica provided information on the works of the ATA and underlined that they attached high importance to cooperation with the AA.
"Since its establishment, ATA has received support from the AA in different areas. Such support came based on strong ties between Turkey and Albania," Podgorica stressed.
"Turkey always supported Albania. Such a reality is very important for us. Turkey has a special place for Albania. The cooperation agreement signed today carries high importance," Podgorica noted.
"We would like to benefit from the experiences of the Anadolu Agency and wish to develop cooperation in this direction. We follow closely the AA's works," Podgorica stated.
"While we have many correspondents in Albania, we do not have correspondents in a foreign country except Kosovo. At this point, we would like to join AA's strong news network. We aim to be a source of reference," Podgorica indicated.
"We aim to begin Albanian Edition Services as an agency"-
Board Chairman and Director General of the Anadolu Agency, Kemal Ozturk, in his part, said that Turkey watched Albania closely.
We feel close to Albania due to bonds of kinship, Ozturk underlined.
With the agreement to be signed on Tuesday, there would be stronger relations between our two countries, Ozturk said.
The agreement to be signed will be a crucial step between the two agencies, Ozturk noted.
Our aim is to begin Albanian Edition Services in Albania and Kosovo, Ozturk said.
We will begin working with the ATA so that our aim of providing news in the Albanian language gets realized, Ozturk expressed.
"The two agencies will make up a team which would carry the news in Albania to the world under the name of ATA. We will not merely make political news. There will be nice cultural news as well," Ozturk underlined.
"AA is one of the top 10 news agencies in the world. We are ready to provide all contributions necessary so that ATA gets known globally," Ozturk also said.
Kemal Ozturk and Podgorica later signed the cooperation protocol.
