The demolishing of 10,700 houses out of the 28,500, which were damaged extensively in earthquakes in Turkey's eastern province of Van, concluded.
Hundreds of houses were destroyed and 28,500 were damaged extensively in the earthquakes that took place between October 23 and November 9, 2011 in Van, according to authorities from Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate's (AFAD) Van Provincial Directorate.
10,700 of the extensively damaged houses were demolished within scope of the decisions to destroy severely damaged buildings, carried out to clear the traces of the earthquake in a short time.
Modifications were also complete nearly in all buildings that suffered minor and moderate damage.
