CAIRO
During his speech at the inauguration, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that Egypt, which had been a cradle for the most rooted civilizations, would be one of the leading countries for freedom in the future period.
Davutoglu said that the visit of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Egypt together with ten ministers was important, adding that this was the reflection of common understanding and the new axis. Davutoglu thanked all Egyptian officials, especially President Mohammad Mursi.
"Nobody shall hesitate. A new Middle East is born. In this new Middle East, the will belongs to people, not individuals and institutions. Free media milieu will provide the required will for the Mideast people," said Davutoglu.
Noting that the developments in the Middle East would be spread to the world via news agencies taking place in the center of the Middle East, Davutoglu said that there would not be any other agendas.
"Thus, I congratulate Anadolu Agency as it established the biggest news office of the Mideast in Cairo with such a vision," he added.
"This is not only an office opening but also a freedom movement which breaks shackles in minds. This will be the source of news which will free our minds," he said.
Davutoglu noted that a strategic partnership would be set up between Turkish and Egyptian medias similar to the strategic partnership between Turkey and Egypt, and he thanked AA and its director general for having such a vision.
