Anadolu Agency's new service "AA Finance News Terminal" went into service at the Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) on Wednesday.
Using its experience of 92 years, AA has been working on the "Finance News Terminal" for almost the past one year and the terminal may now be followed at the ISE's transactions hall.
A ceremony took place at the ISE on Wednesday morning to mark the inauguration of the "AA Finance News Terminal".
The ceremony was attended by the President of ISE Ibrahim Turhan, Executive Board Chairman and Director General of the AA Kemal Ozturk, Editor of AA Finance News Ali Bayaslan, AA's Director of Istanbul Regional Office Mustafa Ekici, an Editor of Regional News Zeki Gumus and other AA team members.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ibrahim Turhan said that "the AA was established on April 6, 1920 to spread the news of the War of Independence to whole Anatolia".
"Today, the AA has taken a step to spread Turkey's economic news to the world," Turhan stressed.
"My late father used to tell me that we would listen to the agency at 1900 hours daily when I was still a child. The agency at the time was our door opening to the world. I later learned that the agency was in fact the Anadolu Agency. Surely, the AA has taken crucial steps lately. It has become dynamic and reached standards in parallel with Turkey's new face and vision. Such a fact gives us pride. I would like to thank all who have made efforts for the AA. I wish that the AA's "Finance News Terminal" would be beneficial to our country, economy, stock exchange and capital markets," Turhan underlined.
Executive Board Chairman and Director General of the AA, Kemal Ozturk, in his part said that today marked an important leg of the AA's Finance Terminal Project developed within the AA's Centennial Vision as the national agency of Turkey.
"We will open the screen for AA's Finance Terminal right at the heart of Turkey's stock exchange," Ozturk stated.
"We thank Ibrahim Turhan for giving us this opportunity. AA is restructuring itself in accordance with the growing economic and political strength of Turkey in the world," Ozturk said.
"It is high time for Turkey to have an agency highly valuable as a country which is among the top 20 economies in the world and one that has Europe's sixth biggest economy," Ozturk noted.
"Turkey did not have an agency which could spread Turkish news to the world. 92-year old AA noticed the inadequacy in this field and decided to begin publishing news in 11 languages. When you turn on our web site, you will see an AA publishing news in five languages. We now have edition services in English, Arabic, Russian, Bosnian and Turkish. The figures we receive from the ISE get transmitted to all the countries of the Middle East and Europe. You will notice today that the speech to be delivered by Ibrahim Turhan will be published and sent to all corners of the world. You will notice an AA that works in accordance with Turkey's vision. You will see on the Finance Terminal that a development in Turkey would be reflected on AA's screens. You will experience great loss if you do not follow AA's Finance Terminal. Following the remarks, a gong ceremony took place on the occasion of the special day at the ISE. The terminal screen was inaugurated with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
