Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Astana, Kazakhstan, on the sidelines of the 4th edition of Cooperation and Confidence Building Measures in Asia Conference.
Davutoglu told reporters discussed with Lavrov the Syria crisis, saying that despite Turkey and Russia had differences on the issue, they shared the common view that Syria's territorial integrity should be protected and the country's stability should be restored.
Responding to a question over the release of a Turkish national who had been kidnapped by a powerful tribe in Lebanon, Davutoglu said spoke on the phone with Lebanon's prime minister and requested the Turkish citizen's safe passage to Turkey.
"I thank the Lebanese government, prime minister, interior minister and intelligence authorities," Davutoglu said.
