ANKARA
A deputy leader of parliamentary group of Republican People's Party (CHP) applied to the Turkish parliament speaker to make public the transcripts of the closed door debate that took place on 1 March 2003 on Turkey's participation to Iraq war launched by the US.
CHP deputy Muharrem Ince in his written application said parliament's own rules allow a vote whether to publish such documents after 10 years passed from the actual debate.
AK Party government led by Abdullah Gul then applied to parliament to be able to send Turkish troops to northern Iraq and allow foreign troops to use Turkish land and air space. Government's demand was rejected after a vote.
After 11th of September attacks in the US, then Bush administration launched wars against Afghanistan and Iraq.
