ANKARA
Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) announced Friday that the number of Syrians who are staying in camps in Turkey has reached 185,205.
According to a statement by AFAD, there are 5 tent cities in Hatay, 2 in Sanliurfa, 3 in Gaziantep, and one each in Kahramanmaras, Osmaniye, Adana and Adiyaman, as well as three container sites in Kilis, Sanliurfa and Gaziantep.
It was said that all the humanitarian needs of more than 265,000 Syrians who came to Turkey due to the situation in their country were met. Turkey provides sheltering, feeding, health care, security, social activity, education, worship, translation, communication and banking services in the camps.
There are schools, mosques, trade, police and health centers, press information units, playgrounds, television watching units, water tanks, water refining centers, transformers and generators in the camps. Officials provide hot meal three times a day.
It was said that 267,702 Syrians entered Turkey so far and 82,497 of them returned to Syria.
