A Turkish policeman was martyred in a bomb attack carried out by the PKK terrorist organization in Turkey’s southeastern Mardin province Sunday, security sources said.
According to the sources, the policeman got seriously injured during an counter-terrorism operation in Nusaybin district’s Dicle neighborhood and later succumbed to his wounds at a hospital, the sources added.
The PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by the U.S. and the EU – resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, more than 300 members of the security forces have been martyred and thousands of PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
