ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced Friday the mayoral candidates of the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party for 2014 local elections in provinces and municipalities, which will be held on March 30.
Erdogan announced specifically the Minister of Family and Social Policies Fatma Sahin for the mayoral candidacy of Gaziantep.
The other candidates are Abdullah Torun for Adana, Fehmi Husrev Kutlu for Adiyaman, Kamil Saracoglu for Kutahya, Sami Aydin for Sivas, Eyup Eroglu for Tokat, and Ali Bektas for Zonguldak.
In the latest 2009 local elections, the overall winner was the ruling AK Party, despite losing votes compared to the 2004 elections.
