ANKARA
South Sudan's Foreign Minister Nhial Deng Nhial attended a reception which was hosted in his honor in Turkey's capital Ankara on Thursday.
Briefing about his country, Nhial said that South Sudan was the world's youngest country after it separated from Sudan following a referendum in 2005.
South Sudan gained independence in 2011.
Noting that there were some problems such as oil and border zones between Sudan and South Sudan, Nhial said that oil was extracted in South Sudan, while Sudan had the infrastructure required for the processing and exporting the oil.
Nhial stressed that his country attached importance in security and stability, adding that they wanted to normalize relations with Sudan.
Nhial is on a formal visit to Turkey, and he will begin his talks on Friday.
South Sudan's Ankara Embassy will be inaugurated officially within the scope of Nhial's visit.
