ANKARA
Turkish Transport, Maritime, & Communications Minister Binali Yildirim met on Wednesday with
Romania's Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Ovidiu Ioan Silaghi in Ankara, the Turkish capital.
Speaking on the occasion of the visit, Yildirim said that the relations between Turkey and Romania had been improving in the recent years.
Stating that trade volume between both countries also rose recently, Yildirim said the trade volume reached 6.6 billion USD in the end of 2011.
Yildirim stated that the figures would increase after developing transportation opportunities among both countries.
Meanwhile, guest minister Silaghi said that Turkey's EU accession would be so beneficial for his country.
Silaghi stated they would cooperate with Turkey in transportation projects, adding that those projects would bring Turkey much closer to Europe.
