Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that Turkey exerted great efforts to attract attention of the world public opinion to Somalia.
Delivering a speech at the 2nd Istanbul Conference on Somalia, Erdogan said that the conference brought together representatives of the international community and all circles in Somalia.
Erdogan said that he paid a visit to Somalia hit by famine with his wife Emine Erdogan and a crowded delegation in August 2011.
Erdogan said Turkish officials informed foreign authorities about the situation in Somalia at international platforms.
Turkey always had cooperation with African countries and attached a special importance to Somalia, he said.
