Turkey: Terrorist PKK weapons, ammunition seized
Security forces in southeastern Hakkari province find hidden weapons, supplies used by terrorist group

HAKKARI, Turkey
Turkish security forces seized arms and ammunition belonging to PKK terrorists in the southeastern Hakkari province, local administration said on Monday.
In a statement, the Hakkari Governorship said the provincial police and gendarmerie forces detected a hideout in the rural areas of Kisirli village.
On Sunday, two wanted PKK terrorists were captured dead in the region as part of the ongoing Yildirim-2 Cilo anti-terror operation.
Security forces seized two AK-47 Kalashnikov infantry rifles, 100 magazines, an assault vest, two backpacks, two ampermeters, a receiver-transmitter belonging to the handmade explosives, a recorder and several survival supplies, the statement said.
The operation is ongoing in the region, it added.
This summer, Turkey has launched a series of security operations to neutralize terrorists believed to be hiding out in the country's east and southeast.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
