Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday that Turkey has weathered global economic crisis by getting stronger.
"I think that the experience that we had can be a model for almost every country in the world," Erdogan said at a side event titled "human dimension of sustainable development" held under Rio+20 Summit.
Erdogan said that Turkey's national income tripled in the past nine years to 772 billion U.S. dollars.
Turkey grew by 8.5 percent in 2011, he said.
Erdogan said that the positive experience that Turkey had could be model for every country, stating that the country has been sharing its experiences and advices with other countries.
Turkey would keep mobilizing its capabilities for regional, and global peace as well as prosperity and stability, he said.
Erdogan met Brazil's president
On the other hand, Erdogan met with Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff in Rio De Janeiro.
Erdogan met Rouseff over a breakfast on the sidelines of Rio+20 Sustainable Development Summit organized by the United Nations.
Economic and political relations between Turkey and Brazil were discussed in the meeting.
Erdogan and Rousseff discussed the ways to boost 2-billion trade volume.
