A total of six PKK terrorists were killed Tuesday during Turkish security forces' anti-terror operations in the Yuksekova district of the Hakkari province, said security forces.
Speaking on condition of anonymity as they are not authorized to speak to the media, the sources said the PKK's so-called Yuksekova regional leader who was on Turkish security forces’ grey wanted list was also neutralized during the operation.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, over 400 members of the security forces, including troops, police officers, and village guards, have been martyred, and more than 3,700 PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
