Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama will pay an official visit to Türkiye on Tuesday at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a Turkish Foreign Ministry statement said Monday.
"Within the scope of the visit, the first meeting of the Türkiye-Albania High Level Cooperation Council will be held in Ankara under the chairmanship of our President (Erdogan) and Prime Minister Mr. Rama," the statement said, adding that during the meeting, "all aspects of Türkiye-Albania relations will be reviewed and steps that can be taken to further deepen bilateral cooperation will be discussed.”
"In the meetings to be held with our NATO ally Albania, in addition to bilateral relations, ideas will be exchanged on regional and international developments, especially in the Balkans, on the basis of the understanding of maintaining peace and stability," the ministry also said.
"On the occasion of the Council Meeting, the signing of various legal texts that will make significant contributions to the contractual basis of Türkiye-Albania relations is also on the agenda."
Turkish-Albanian relations derive their strength from shared history and strong social and cultural bonds, according to the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
