Two car bombs exploded 15 minutes apart in Dagestani capital of Makhachkala, killing 8 and injuring dozens in what is seen as the biggest incident of violence in months in the country.
According to a statement by the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs, the first bomb was detonated at noon by remote control, causing no casualties. It was used as 'bait' for the highest possible impact, however, leading to a second explosion in just 15 minutes after people gathered at the scene.
The explosions wrecked some 30 cars nearby. The attack has yet to be claimed by any person or group.
