Tunisian Ennahda Movement has nominated Interior Minister Ali al-Arid as new prime minister of Tunisia following the resignation of Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali.
Ennahda Movement's leader Rached Ghannouchi stated on Friday that el-Arid was their candidate for prime minister.
Ghannouchi is expected to present the name of their candidate to Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki.
Jebali resigned on Tuesday as his efforts to set up a technocrat government failed.
