Turkey’s supply of natural gas via the Blue Stream pipeline has been disrupted by maintenance, Russia’s Gazprom announced Tuesday.
The repairs, due to be completed by July 5, will not affect the total supply of gas to Turkey, the energy giant said in a statement. The Blue Stream gas will be diverted to other pipelines.
Turkey is the second biggest buyer of Russian gas after Germany, importing almost 60 percent of its gas from Russia in 2013.
Blue Stream carries gas supplies 1,213km under the Black Sea from Russia to Turkey, supplying 13.7 billion cubic meters last year.
